Quality lost – Made in PRC

Haven't you at least once turned your eyes of a product, while purchasing because the damn thing was printed Made in PRC or China, i am sure you have

China now is the hub of all manufacturing, rather its the world’s factory. That should have made this place more quality conscious, its not i have often felt it to be

Shell petrol is running a campaign which is selling Ferrari model cars – 6 variety – at its Petrol pumps here in India. Last Saturday i drove into one of Shell’s station to fill up my car with some Petrol, as usual they started marketing their wares and seeing my baby boy in the  vehicle the lady started pitching the Ferraris to us. Well, that was quite an attraction to hear 100 Rs for a look alike Ferrari. We went into their store and i decided to buy my son all 6 of the models on sale.

Back home, the cars were already causing my son restlessness and we tore it all out of the neat packing, eager to play with them. They were single motor fixed cars and were sure to be a good thing. We started playing with the cars and realised the tension built up on its coils when we pull it backward wasn’t enough to haul these small toys even a distance of 5 ft. So low quality they were made… even the tyre coating were coming of the wheels.

Shell’s brand and Mattel’s co branded toys are of such poor quality – the question to be asked is that Is it because its made in china ? Well i am sure it is.

Its not these cars alone instead almost anything that you get made from PRC quite distinctly reflects bad workmanship. I only wonder, how in the world do people still buy these things !

new age Doctors !

During the last two weeks i was down with some sort of a fever. Headache, Body pain, tiredness and top it off with fever running into 100+. After having endured the trouble for four days with Homeopathic treatment, i couldn’t but get myself see a Allopath / Physician

While at the consultation, i was asked a whole host of things which the Dr would consider to be symptoms of a type of fever which he could then diagnose. Well, my fortune or his headache i was not having any of them… I was feeling relieved that these didn't find a place in me and therefore my own short diagnosis, ‘That i am not in for a long haul’ !

But the learned Physician wouldn’t let it off – he came back saying ‘ I am finding it difficult to diagnose a particular fever, and given that there are lot of Fever types running these days it could be anything Brain, Dengue, Chikungunya, Malaria, Typhoid or anything like that. Hence, get yourself admitted and some blood tests [ a huge list at that ] to be done. We will start with Anti-biotic and then lets see what it is !!!! ‘’

That night was the most restless that i have ever got of-late. Came back home and then my folks and couple of friends were at home, who very diligently prayed and i could sense that body was feeling much better.

Nevertheless, with full trust in God i went to another hospital and got a check-up done and after a three blood tests, the Dr there told me it was nothing to worry, its just another bout of Viral fever which went awry and some tablets written, i was back home advised to take solid rest

New age has come with it loads of technology, that has actually got the Dr’s leaving nothing to chance and also proper usage of technology …… only meant to eat into the peace of the patient and also his pocket !

eeeks… we missed him

RTO’s across the country should get the aspiring drivers to pass the driving test on the roads of Secunderabad. Either he will clear it and be an excellent driver or that would be the end of his aspiration

Its heart to mouth situation, while you are in an auto, taxi or any vehicle which is moving on these roads. Maddening to the core, people just turn left or right without bothering if there is a vehicle at their backs. Traffic signals for such a huge city is literally non existent unless otherwise its some important junction. For those that are there, people hardly care to stand till the laal bathi becomes hara bathi… thats Red to Green !

On our journey back to Kacheguda railway station from the Secunderabad clock tower area, our auto driver literally was scraping everyone on the road, apparently the people there seems to have got used to this and they don't care much

While on our way back from RR Dist into Secunderabad on the highway a carrier Auto rickshaw went zooop from the left of our Yellow taxi to the right side and at a fast pace… it knocked our car to the right, which hit the median and came to the left side, while we screamed inside the driver realised that a bolt struck him and little did he realise that it wasn't the Truck at our back instead the drunk fella who was driving the carrier. Our car was halted and found to our dismay that the front bumpers had fallen off !!!! Something that i was left wondering here is that there was no immediate fisticuffs … instead it went to talking and shouting a quick comparison to Bangalore, well the Auto fellow would've been bleeding by then !

All in all… while you are in Rome be a Roman and when you are in Secunderabad or Hyderabad be someone like them !

Biriyani paradise..

What a rush ! never could believe that Biriyani would attract so many people to a place rightfully named Paradise !

I am talking about Paradise the hotel, which is a eatery in Secunderabad. it stands right at the Paradise junction on MG Road & Sardar Patel road. Apparently they started there in the early 60’s and now is literally a huge complex, that has multiple eating spaces divided to take care of all classes in society – if i were to be specific.

The oldest of the complex is at the rear side of this facade, its a bakery, chai and biriyani ka dhookan. Most of the people who throng here and either in a hurry or just want to have some food and go… they wouldn't be bothered about the climes.

Takeaway centre… as you can see here. I was amazed to see 5 counters all filled with long queues, mouth watering kebabs and other stuffs are on sale here too

The main hotel apparently was divided into 3 floors / areas as they are called. Silver, Gold & Platinum.

Men with Black T Shirt ‘’Security’ printed on the backs, guarded every entry of the hotel with metal detectors and we were made to pass through Metal detector arches, after which there is a body frisk too… it made me think for a second that i am entering a high security Airport.

At the table, the Suit wearing bearer approached us for the orders and … technology was in full show. He flipped out his IPAQ and started clicking on it with his stylus, on enquiry i was told that the order straight electronically pins itself onto the Kitchen boards with the table number. Sure enough the orders were very promptly delivered to us and with good quantity too. A family biriyani was 610 Rs and easily served about 7 of us.

Truly Paradise it is for Biriyani & Kebabs !
